“SPRING REVIVAL”
At the end of March we will be having “Spring Revival.” Our revival will focus on prayer and the believer. I have invited Bro. David McCollum of Louisville, Kentucky to come as our preacher. You may be wondering why the prayer emphasis since we think of revivals as a time for evangelism.
In days gone by revivals were two weeks long. The first week was focused on the “reviving of the saints” and the second week was for evangelism as those who had been revived went out to share in their communities. Our culture changed and the time of two week revivals is all but forgotten. Today churches hold four day, even weekend revivals.
It is my belief that prayer is to be the heart of everything that the church is about. Prayer unleashes the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church. I feel that David McCollum is uniquely qualified to lead us in a time of “Prayer Revival.” He writes that “the basic design of the Prayer Revival is to promote a vital love relationship between the heavenly Father and His redeemed child.” We will seek to ignite a new love in our hearts for Christ. Wouldn’t you like to stoke the fires of your love for the Lord? Plan to attend our Prayer Revival and you will be a big step closer to doing just that. CEM
